Marco Asensio has officially returned to Paris Saint-Germain after his loan spell with Aston Villa came to an end. The Spanish attacking midfielder enjoyed a strong second half of the season with the English club, almost convincing them to make his move permanent.
Aston Villa confirmed Asensio’s departure on Monday, signaling his return to the French champions. During his time with the Villans, Asensio featured in 21 matches across all competitions, finding the back of the net 8 times. Notably, three of those goals came during their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clashes against Club Brugge.

“Attacking midfielder Asensio made 21 appearances in claret and blue, scoring eight goals, including three in both legs of our UEFA Champions League Round of 16 matches against Club Brugge,” Aston Villa stated in their official announcement.
