PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi made a full advance payment of €45 million for Bradley Barcola to support Lyon’s efforts to remain in Ligue 1.
Transfer fees are usually paid in installments, but PSG chose to send the full amount early. This gives Lyon a financial lifeline as it appeals its relegation by the DNCG.
Former rivals Al-Khelaïfi and Lyon owner John Textor now appear united in trying to preserve the financial health of French football.
