LIGUE 1 – Bournemouth are making waves in the transfer market, and their latest reported target is none other than Lille OSC’s talented central defender, Bafodé Diakité.
Having recently cashed in on Dean Huijsen, who moved to Real Madrid for a substantial €62 million, and with Ilya Zabarni also expected to depart for Paris Saint-Germain in another lucrative deal, the Cherries are flush with cash and on the hunt for a new center-back.
According to L’Équipe, the English club has identified the 24-year-old Diakité as their primary target. Diakité, who featured in 48 matches across all competitions last season, contributing 4 goals and 1 assist, has clearly impressed the Premier League outfit.

The report suggests that the nine-place finishers in last season’s Premier League consider the number 18 for Les Dogues an “absolute priority” and have already initiated negotiations with the Lille board.
Diakité is currently under contract with the northern French club until June 30, 2028, and his market value is estimated at €25 million by Transfermarkt.
With significant funds at their disposal, Bournemouth appears determined to land Diakité as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
